About Aleš
Aleš Stýskalík obtained his Master and Doctoral degrees in Materials Chemistry at Masaryk University. During his studies, he developed new non-hydrolytic sol-gel syntheses for the preparation of several important classes of micro/mesoporous materials with large surface areas – silicophosphates, organophosphosilicates, metallosilicates, and inorganic-organic hybrid materials derived from them. He acquired a significant international experience: a semester at University of Cologne, Germany (Erasmus) and two summer stays at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. After finishing his Ph.D. he obtained a postdoc position at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA (1 year). Later, he worked as a MSCA-IF postdoc fellow at Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium (2 years). During his post-doctoral stays he gained a considerable experience in heterogeneous catalysis. He re-joined Masaryk University in 2019 and started to establish a new research group focused on materials chemistry and heterogeneous catalysis.
